lyrics
If I could see you one last time
Could I change your mind
Keep your breath in my lungs
My name on your tongue
Keep the stars aligned
If I could see you one last time
Not sure what I would say
I think I could have loved you, I was ready to
but it didn’t work out that way
The last time that I saw you
Standing in my doorway
You kissed me so gentle
I think I knew somehow
You’d never stay
I was only a time and a place
If I could see you one last time
What difference would it make
Sometimes love gives what we want
Sometimes it just takes
The last time that I saw you
Standing in my doorway
You kissed me so gentle
I think I knew somehow
You’d never stay
I was only a time and a place
If I could see you one last time
What difference would it make
Sometimes love gives what we want
Sometimes it just takes
Oh sometimes love gives what we want
Sometimes it takes

A go-to local (Nashville) fav of mine, Andrew a master of vibe and textures, self producing all his own stuff. If you like Big Thief, Andy Shauf, and other great indie rock/folk you'll love this. Jobi Riccio
This ain't Texas. This ain't Nashville. This is country that straddles the US and Canadian border. Its wide open, strong, and a little vulnerable, and in a lot of cases having a good ol' time. I love her feel. veenstar
1st time i heard DeathWish, i turned it off.
felt rushed, not the Isbell i've come to admire. really grab'd me when i took time to listen on the 2nd try. the writing on these songs stopped me in my tracks more than once. raw talent with just enough polish in the delivery.
thankyou Jason + 400 for another keeper swirlingmadness
