lyrics
The ache of afternoon glow
Touches the sycamores
The place the birds sing for
What a beautiful party
These people talk the same
Drinking stars in their champagne
But deep in my coat pockets
I find that old familiar feeling
Homesick
Homesick
The city opens her palm
And we hit all the greens
Burning gasoline
I feel young and kind of pretty
In your drivers seat
With a place to be
But my mind is far from a skyline
On that old familiar back road
Homesick
Homesick
Homesick for a home I don’t have
Heartsick for a life I can never get back
Homesick for a home I don’t have
Heartsick for a life I can never, never get back
So I board a silver plane
And chase the sunsets down
Making canyons in the clouds
But packed away in my suitcase
What I didn’t mean to bring
That old familiar feeling
Homesick

A go-to local (Nashville) fav of mine, Andrew a master of vibe and textures, self producing all his own stuff. If you like Big Thief, Andy Shauf, and other great indie rock/folk you'll love this. Jobi Riccio
This ain't Texas. This ain't Nashville. This is country that straddles the US and Canadian border. Its wide open, strong, and a little vulnerable, and in a lot of cases having a good ol' time. I love her feel. veenstar
1st time i heard DeathWish, i turned it off.
felt rushed, not the Isbell i've come to admire. really grab'd me when i took time to listen on the 2nd try. the writing on these songs stopped me in my tracks more than once. raw talent with just enough polish in the delivery.
thankyou Jason + 400 for another keeper swirlingmadness
